The Dalton films are the ones that belong to the top for me, not so much because of the fact that they are much better than the rest, but because of the appropriate Bond portrayal of Dalton that fits me best with a Bond film and the fact that these are the ultimate old style Bond movies. He is indeed businesslike and less humorous, without leaning directly towards Mission Impossible, but the humor and dynamics are just in balance in this film. This is one of the very last ones to have the real traditional Bond feel, the whole style gets a bit ruined after this in my opinion. The story is also a lot more realistic than always those extreme things that the super villains played for each other in previous films, it became more and more extreme and unbelievable. For me personally a topper that has everything of a real Bond film, goes back to the essence and shows its own identity. Also just nice to watch, go get some beer and you haven't really missed anything .

Timothy Dalton is the best James Bond for me. Why, his appearance how he presents himself, his eyes tell a lot, 'a deadly spy with a License to Kill'' Connery had charm but lacked the killer eyes, charisma that Dalton has.

Add to that a realistic story, and you have a James bond film that started with a breath of fresh air and leaves Moore's clumsy comic bond films behind.

Action scenes were neat, cool and fit the movie. The highlight for me remains the car chase scene on the Alps and on the ice And then as a closing with a musical instrument, a cello with the bond girl slide to Austria!

Jeroen Krabbe very good as a double role, a kind of face off role but without the face swapping. The bond girl played by Maryam d'Abo is a minus. She did stupid actions, including: while sitting in the cockpit, not paying attention to where the plane is flying..and had little charisma. But it wasn't so disturbing that it ruined the whole movie. The soundtrack is great. It combines the James bond theme with suspense score with beautiful strong pieces in it. The Living Daylights and then License to kill are among the best Bond films. For me they are the best!

Many James Bond fans will not agree with me, but Timothy Dalton as James is the best 007 next to Sean Connery. He was also the choice for Bond before Roger Moore became him, too bad Timothy was only allowed to do 2. Because of the thunder with studios and the fact that License To Kill was considered too dark and violent, these 2 remained. His 1st is how 007 should be a lot of action, beautiful locations, beautiful Bond girl(s) and of course our Jeroen Krabbe as the badguy, everyone else knows the story so I'll leave it at that.
