SXSW Film Festival

The SXSW Film Festival, also known as South by Southwest or South By is an annual celebration of film, music, technology, and interactive media that takes place each year in Austin, Texas.

Initially a music festival, it was expanded in the 1980s to incorporate film and other areas. The SXSW Film Conference lasts between five and 10 days and features panels and productions from experts as well as novice filmmakers.

The most coveted awards are for Narrative Feature and Documentary Feature.
