Sundance Film Festival

The Sundance Film Festival is an annual movie festival dedicated to celebrating the best of independent films each year whether it be from an artistic or technical point of view. It has been running since the first festival took place in Utah in 1978 and was previously known as the Utah/US Film Festival.

The most coveted awards are for the U.S. Grand Jury Prize: Dramatic and the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize: Dramatic though each of the awards given at the festival comes with its own degree of prestige.

U.S Grand Jury Prize: Dramatic

The most prestigious award given at the Sundance Film Festival is the U.S. Grand Jury Prize: Dramatic.

Historically, this award has encompassed films from both the United States and around the world, but in recent years a World Cinema award has been established.

The most recent recipient of the U.S. Grand Jury Prize: Dramatic is Nanny.
