Roger Moore is in good shape, Lois Chiles is not only beautiful but also has the look of someone who can take care of himself, Michael Lonsdale is appropriately haughty and blasĆ© (ā€œMr Bond ā€“ you defy all my attempts to plan an amusing death for youā€), the action scenes (the flight simulator, the chase in the canals of Venice, the brawl in the glass museum) are short but sweet, the effects still look nice (with some exceptions like Bond the paraglider and the clumsy battle with laser weapons in space), the sets are magnificent as usual, and the film as a whole is one big fun package. Considerably nicer than I remembered.

One of the better Bond films in my opinion. Qualitatively a film that is well put together, decor and settings. Beautiful film locations again and a nice combination with the space event. I'm a fan of the English humor that Moore brings with it, while at the same time making it a real Bond film. Nice chase scenes and a healthy gadget content. Movies with Moore are somehow feel good Bond movies. This is one of my favorite bond movies.

A lot has been taken from other Bond films, but with a different jacket. But that doesn't make it any less fun. Look for the differences...

It's not always easy to tell all Bond films apart, not even for me by the way. This Moonraker is generally rated less well than the rest. I thought it was okay. Maybe just that little bit less flashy and it is very often repeated, but that is also characteristic of the other films. That constant whining and pawing is less acceptable today with #MeToo.

Jaws is a nice bad guy and quite happy that he has found his happiness, but the turnaround is very sudden when he suddenly starts to realize in the space base that he is being cheated. His invincibility is sometimes something like the fall from the plane - where does it suddenly come from? ā€” and the waterfall scene.

The effect was not always good here and sometimes a bit over the top (even more than usual), but I thought the locations were fine (Rio, Venice). The space travel could also be there once in a while.
