Slow Horses plot
Slough House is the office of the British security service MI5 where the agents end up who have made an unforgivable mistake, the so-called 'Slow Horses'. Jackson Lamb is in charge of this spy service drain. The cops are given a boring and mind-numbing job, in the hope that they will resign after a while. But then Slough House becomes embroiled in a dangerous case in which a man threatens to be beheaded by his captors live on the internet.

Alternately funny and exciting English television series about Slough House, the office of the British security service MI5 where the agents end up who have made an unforgivable mistake, the so-called 'Slow Horses'. With a wonderfully glamorous Gary Oldman, the series has a strong trump card. His character is in fact so blunt and rude that this constantly makes you laugh. Especially the moment when he gives a rare 'speech' is hilarious. The rest of the cast is also fine and as the series progresses, things seem to be cleverly put together, resulting in an exciting cat and mouse game. With of course an open door to a second series.

The opening sequence of the undercover drama Slow Horses is excellent. Slow Horses can hold the suspense reasonably well throughout the 6 episodes. But if someone says we're watching a dark comedy, I go along with it. It reminds me a bit of the Hunters series, also with a bunch of misfits and losers. Not really, of course, because the Slough House agents may have failed at the official MI 5, but they do have a mission.
These slow horses are led by bullybak Jackson Lamb (a grimace Gary Oldman) and remind me of the Spooks series (10 seasons from 2003 - 2011), excluding humor. Slow Horses should focus primarily on the interaction between the characters. This mix of drama, suspense and humor works well. Point deduction because Slow Horses is sometimes completely over the top, which seems quite forced. The events are too dramatic for a parody of the genre.
