It's a Great Life plot

The Bumstead household is in turmoil as mother Blondie tries to feed her daughter Cookie in the kitchen, while dog Daisy and her pups run around the house, two workmen wax the floors in front of the house, and her son Baby Dumpling with his buddy Alvin Fuddle invite their neighborhood playmates in the backyard. Blondie then wakes her happily sleeping husband Dagwood to receive a call from his employer, the real estate agent JC Dithers. Dagwood is instructed to buy a house, but he can't hear him properly due to the loud noise of the waxing machines and thinks he should buy a horse.
