Agatha Christie's Poirot plot

When the Germans invaded Belgium in 1914, the civilian population was hit hard. Many Belgian citizens flee to the neutral Netherlands or to England. One of them is Hercule Poirot, a former police officer. Poirot is lovingly cared for at Styles St. Mary in England and develops an affection for his new homeland. After the war, he settles as a private detective in London, in a flat in Whitehaven Mansions. He teams up with former British Army officer Captain Arthur Hastings and his secretary Miss Lemon.

The episode "Murder on the Links" has a strangely variable picture quality. About halfway through, the picture quality suddenly reminds me of a VHS copy. The first part has the usual high picture quality, but after exactly 60 minutes this suddenly changes. The subtitles, and also the commercials afterwards, remain clear and sharp. It seems to be purely due to the quality of the film.

The episode itself is not in my top 10. Too many different locations (also outside England) which sometimes makes the story hard to follow. Like some other fans, I also have a clear preference for episodes that are just set in the UK.
