Twin Peaks season 1

The most amazing and at the same time the most insane series ever made. Every character is so curious but at the same time so incredibly fascinating. It all starts with Laura Palmer's body washed ashore and the arrival of FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper to the idyllic town of Twin Peaks in the middle of the Washington State woods. The town seems like a peaceful and sleepy hamlet, but it soon turns out that there is a lot going on, sometimes of a criminal and sometimes of a supernatural nature. Twin Peaks grabs you from the first minute and doesn't let go. You fall in love with the rustic town and its special inhabitants, just like special agent Dale Cooper does. You must see this series!

Twin Peaks season 1

My first discovery through this site! Have often watched this with open mouth, unbelievable!

The fun characters, the wonderfully developed plot, the nice tempo, the downright beautiful music, and an atmosphere that switches as naturally between dreamy and nightmarish as humanly possible. Strong comedic timing too! It's never over-the-top, but whenever a scene could use some humor, it comes out in a way that, again, feels very natural.

The last episode also closes with a whole horde of cliffhangers, so on to season 2! Seems to be a bit less, but as long as the atmosphere, characters and humor remain intact, they won't lose me as a new fan.

Twin Peaks season 1

Mediocre.

Got through the first season, but didn't find it all that remarkable now. The first episode is okay, especially because it still feels pretty fresh at that moment. Music is definitely a plus and the episode sets the tone for the rest of the series. But then it's just 7 episode repeat of the same thing.

The good village gets darker with the episode, but the intrigue is barely intriguing. That's because most of the characters are pretty boring, only a few weirdos (like MacLachlan) stand out positively. And it doesn't get that weird either, I'm afraid the TV format is too big a brake for that. I also got really tired of the soundtrack at the end, the same music keeps being repeated.

And so it gets less with the delivery. Who or what didn't even interest me that much in the end, but of course we're not there yet. Can we also imagine that it was a decent series in its time, in that sense I understand the reputation, but it is now firmly outdated. One of the lesser things Lynch made.

2.0*
