I find "Murder on the Orient Express" a disappointing episode. Poirot (David Suchet), especially at the beginning, seems absent-minded, almost washed-out. He improves later on, but never reaches the level of previous episodes.
As the ending approaches, it turns out a significant religious component has been added to the story. A rather unexpected development, which comes across as moralistic and is never convincing. Agatha Christie herself, incidentally, always steered clear of such topics in her books.
Expectations were high, but this episode is certainly no better than other film adaptations of the famous story...

"The Clocks" is an episode in which Poirot is back at his old high level.
There are, in fact, two storylines running concurrently. One is a spy case, the second a fraud case involving a large inheritance. The second case results in a murder, in which the body is disposed of in the home of a woman involved in espionage for Germany. The episode takes place before World War II.
Due to the abundance of (sometimes false) information, even Poirot struggles to keep the two cases separate and solve the murder. As a side effect, the espionage network is dismantled.
