Part 8 again.

Despite the fact that this part has been given a status for the poor quality it has, I thought it was better than the seventh part of the series. Of course it is a very weak film in terms of content where logic and thinking are apparently strange words, but the fun factor has risen a bit again.

Myers is a lot less menacing compared to his first films, but he is present on a larger scale in this film. As long as they don't do crazy things I think the many murders are quite nice to watch, and Resurrection certainly includes enough chopping. Safe chopping, but performed in a wonderfully chosen setting.

With this kind of environment, a TV show, it's almost guaranteed to turn your brain off, but the idiocy of this movie really peaks after a while, when it just gets distracting. The acting is also not exactly perfect and I think I forgot all the characters a week later. Not exactly a nice return for a Halloween movie from the year 2002.

The murders can all be called safe and a lot of creativity is not seen in this film, but the pace is increased a bit more compared to previous parts. After about 30 minutes, including a rather surprising opening sequence, the registers open and the crew is finished at a decent pace. Not exactly in creative ways, but at least the blood is allowed to flow in quick succession.

Furthermore, the film makes absolutely no sense and has abominable acting. The unfortunate thing is that a film like this never dares to venture out of its way, and then you are unfortunately left with a film in which logic is a concept from the past and is full of rather annoying one-liners. If they add something, then it is an example for other films to just leave these sentences out. A mediocre, but extremely entertaining slasher.

Oh yeah. Bad of course, but I didn't expect anything different now. The level of the average Halloween sequel is depressing anyway, and with that expectation in mind, this film is actually not that bad. Certainly not the worst of the series in my opinion. You'd almost want to give it pluses because it tries to different from the rest (although it mostly fails). It's a bit more brutal than most of the previous installments, the small cast locked in a house isn't such a bad concept and Myers himself is quite common. The movies themselves usually don't do him justice, but he remains the most iconic horror figure.

The umpteenth mediocre part, but with the mind at zero it's still quite entertaining. 2.5*.

Ah, Resurrection. What can you actually say. I actually quite liked how they manage to bring Chucky Myers back to life and the first 15 minutes are also quite nice. But it's too much of a product of the early 2000s and that was just an ugly period in terms of clothing style and hairstyles, but the early 2000s technology is also really creepy in this movie. Throw in a bunch of sexist and way too horny youngsters who are too stupid to shit and you get this movie. How naive can you make characters do you think. Busta itself is of course terrible, but it's not as disturbing as the bad horror elements. It's all just so stupid. Finding a head in a washing machine and then tripping over the headless corpse. As if you didn't see it in that giant pool of blood. Myers apparently hangs from the ceiling like a spider-man, because he always manages to quietly hoist himself down in H20 and this movie. It's all just a bit too stupid to be interesting. The Myers house is also apparently a huge mansion inside as everyone gets lost and there are plenty of hallways etc etc

You know, I don't even think thinking stupid things is the worst thing. Annoying characters like Busta just don't get on my nerves. But that says more about the rest of the film than it is about him....

1,5* remains standing
