Motor City plot
In 1970s Detroit, John Miller falls for Sophia, the girlfriend of a local gangster. Naturally, she's not pleased and sets up a scheme to frame Miller. His plan works, landing him in prison, where he plots revenge.

A film needs no words to carry. Like this one. We enjoyed it. My girlfriend even said: a piece of cinematic art is being shown here, and if this prompts me to write this, then it is more than successful.

Mediocre action movie. The story is a standard revenge variation and very predictable. The execution isn't great, but it is original due to the absence of dialogue except for a few sentences. The lack of text is cleverly compensated for by a strong soundtrack linked to the scenes, but it is insufficient to truly draw the viewer into the film. Combined with the wafer-thin plot, the film quickly leads to boredom. Visually, the film is reasonably strong, with a number of well-filmed (action) scenes and a nice 70s setting. Ritchson delivers a decent performance. I just don't understand why they didn't opt for an entirely textless film. 2.5
