Jesus plot
Jesus has a nightmare and does not understand its meaning: he is just an ordinary carpenter's son, isn't he? Times are hard in the Galilee, the yoke of Roman rule is getting heavier and there is chaos and uncertainty. To quell any opposition, many executions and crucifixions are the order of the day. After Joseph's death, Jesus visits John the Baptist and is baptized by him. He retreats to the desert, where the devil tries to seduce him with power and wealth. Jesus resists this temptation, returns home and now knows what his task is in this world. He performs miracles and heals the sick. His followers are increasing in number, although there are also those who doubt that Jesus is the Messiah. When Jesus visits the temple in Jerusalem and finds chaos there, he becomes angry and evacuates the temple. If neither the Romans nor the Jews offer any resistance, it becomes clear that Jesus will play an important role in the future religious and political developments of Judea.
