Gli Amici di Gesù - Maria Maddalena plot
When the marriage between Mary and Amos remains childless, Amos disowns her and decides to divorce her. Mary is therefore forced to leave Magdala. Shortly afterwards, she meets the Roman prefect Silvano, who promises her a new life by his side. A few days after her previous meeting, she comes into contact with John the Baptist. This prophet who baptizes en masse is seen by Silvano as rebellious. When Mary does come into contact with John, she hears about Jesus. The stories about this Messiah begin to interest her very much. Maria decides not to tell Silvano about John in the hopes of protecting the prophet. But when Silvano finds out about her "betrayal", he also disowns her, and she is back on the street. To survive, she has to present herself as a prostitute, after which she later commits a suicide attempt. When Jesus comes into her life, things change forever.
