Solomon plot
Shortly before King David's death, great disagreement arose over who should succeed him. David's favorite son, Solomon, manages to defeat his older brother and is proclaimed king of Israel. Solomon is renowned for his wisdom, sense of justice and love of peace. Among those who visit the beautiful city of Jerusalem with its temple is the Queen of Sheba, whose beauty Solomon cannot resist. The impressive court of the King consists of numerous wives and concubines, many of whom come from abroad. They involve different religious practices. The priests resisted these foreign influences, but without success. Until the people of Israel start to resist this. As Solomon grows older and more melancholy, he flees into his own world, while his kingdom threatens to collapse.
