Thirteen years before Blader Runner 2049 (2017), Niander Wallace, the founder of the Wallace Corporation, expressed his desire to create a new line of Plastic Replicants. With the Earth's ecosystem in rapid decline, Niander emphasizes the importance of cheap labor and illustrates the fact that the superior Nexus-9 replicates pose no threat to society, but are only made to serve.
