Snake Eyes plot

"Believe everything except your eyes."

An important boxing match takes place in a casino in Atlantic City. In the middle of the fight, shots are suddenly fired and the Minister of Defense turns out to be the victim. The shady detective Rick Santoro sets out to investigate, where nothing is as it seems.

Good film in which the secretary of defense is shot during a big boxing match. The story is well put together and entertaining in which an event is highlighted from different characters. Technically an excellent film, with a great opening (one long shot that gives the whole thing a certain urgency). This level is just not held at full length. Over 3.5 stars.

I was never bored with this movie. Obviously it's not De Palma's best film, also because it doesn't really have a great twist. Cage is fantastic in his role (always like to see him overact) and Gary Sinise also plays his part excellently with the necessary coolness. Also always nice to see Carla Gugino.
