“You're gonna need a bigger boat.”

Great classic by Steven Spielberg. Jaws is a monumental film for me, and I used to have the film grayed out. He also continues to impress every time, and I don't think the magic is ever lost. The build-up is brilliant, and the fact that you only get to see the basking shark in its full glory at the very end adds to the tension. The scene in which you see Roy Scheider sitting on a beach chair, and the camera slowly zooming in on him while looking out at the tourists in the water, is unparalleled. Like Robert Shaw's monologue on the boat, arguably the best scene in the movie.

In the last part, Spielberg really manages to bring the tension to a boil, but Spielberg wouldn't be Spielberg if he also didn't forget to just make it an entertaining blockbuster. The combination works great, and John Williams' Jaws theme remains iconic. With Scheider, Dreyfuss and Shaw, who also manage to give the film a human and sometimes even comic touch with their inspired acting.

Four protagonists: Roy Scheider, Richard Dreyfuss, Robert Shaw and of course the great shark.

Dreyfuss and Scheider do a very good job but especially Shaw is great in this movie as the

'captain' of the fishing boat; a rough and unpredictable sea bump for whom the sheriff

(Schheider) and Dreyfuss (Naval Biologist) are actually wimps. Together they fight

the shark terrorizing the coast with deadly attacks. Spielberg's sublime breakthrough film,

with lots of suspense and shock moments. To catch your breath last Spielberg

an entertaining, long scene in which the three drunken have the greatest fun and seem

they even become friends. One of the memorable scenes in the movie. The shark turns out to be smart and

indestructible, the three heroes like birds to the cat. The film has a fairly long lead-up,

which, however, already offers fascinating viewing pleasure from a refined work towards the direct

confrontation of the three actors with the shark. John's score as simple as it is effective

Williams can be there too.

A classic, of course with (lesser) sequels, and since then the sharks have been horror films

no longer count. The shark itself now has to pay with a disproportionate, negative

reputation. All Spielberg's fault...

You won't get a better shark film, even if we are way ahead in terms of time and technology... Striking isn't it? This movie still remains my number 1 movie! Boring? How do you mean? Someone is eaten every 20 minutes before they go on the boat looking for Jaws. The music is great and throbbing throughout this movie, the supsense and how the movie was shot is great, not even talking about the cast. Man man, what a chemistry those 3 have with each other, culminating in that Indianapolis speech. Everything is just right about this film and the 70s atmosphere makes it complete. The fact that we haven't come across a better shark film in 2021 says enough, right? I still give this movie the full 5 stars!!!

How can people not like Jaws? This is a classic film, and anticipating what the shark will do next makes you want to keep turning away, but your curiosity prevents you from doing so.

I read that the production team had many problems with the mechanical prop sharks once they were placed in the salt water. So, the movie's director decided to use the movie cameras as the shark, and therefore, much of the film is shot from the fish's perspective, which I think made a good film a great one.

Jaws is one of those flicks you can keep rewatching occasionally, and it's just as good as when you saw it for the first time.
