Quite entertaining film that you could also have called Negotiator 2. Man in desperate position pulls extreme stunt to prove his innocence, with the help of his family.

Story is fairly authentic and quite fast at a constant pace while at the beginning you don't know what it's really about. As a result, the plot twists are also pure and sincere.

No high-quality character roles or a lot of depth. And Worthington just isn't a top actor. Just a quick fun movie with a well-constructed plot and a nice ending.

Weak.

At first glance the plot seems nice, especially because I like those intense thrillers. Unfortunately, this story turned out not to be quite a thriller, and it's more of a crime type that didn't really interest me at all.

Worthington isn't exactly brilliant, but in the end he does have a kind of charm with his role that works. Banks was also fine. The movie started off nice, although I had my doubts after that breakout. The first 20 minutes are therefore actually the best part of the film, because after that it is suddenly very absurd and it loses all credibility.

There is no momentum in the film, which means it is not tense for a moment. Speed is normally what makes these movies good. David Fincher, for example, could have done this much better. You don't really get a fear of heights from the images, while you should.

But it remains smooth, however the American traits are starting to take over more and more towards the end. Ed Harris for example, but the bickering between Rodriguez and Bell is also so typical. It just doesn't fit in a movie like this.

The satire on the American population is also simply laughable. So exaggerated, too forced. The last 20 minutes (final phase) are perhaps the weakest parts. The police reacting abnormally to his surroundings, the forced moments that should be 'exciting' and the dull role of Harris. So weak.

Fortunately, the acting itself is nice, and the first 20 minutes are good. After that it's just a mess.

I expected a lot more from this. The premise and concept are quite good. We have of course already seen The negotiator with Samuel L. Jackson and Kevin Spacey in the lead roles, but I like such thrillers.

The first half hour is strong with the exposé of plan and the escape of “Walker”. Afterwards, the film falls into endless cliché and strange plots and coincidences, so that the fun quickly wears off. It never really gets exciting. And that's what such films need. A Phoenix booth, for example, plays that fact perfectly. Here the underlying story was too thin and Worthington's meager explanation didn't help either.

Of course you're dealing with a traitor within your intimate circle of friends - I can live with that, but in the end they are treated rather sleazy. The unmasking itself was also quite uninspired and simple. From zero to hero in our second and vice versa. It was that simple with no boo or yuck. And of course the new hero goes home with The chick and there is a rehabilitation as if nothing had happened. No, lousy course of a promising film. Unfortunately!
