The film is too long and is actually a mess. Maureen O'Sullivan is annoying just like in part one and Johnny Weissmuller isn't very special either, although he does a pretty good job. But this is still a super entertaining Tarzan movie, despite some lesser points. I am just a bit surprised that the great Tarzan classic is called. I really don't think this level is any better than the excellent first part. But otherwise a very entertaining film, which is a bit too long, but in which time passes very quickly. Part three, I'm coming! Anyway, this was a great movie. Fun entertainment!

This sequel to Tarzan the Ape Man (1932) certainly rivals the original. Although there is still a lot to be desired according to the insights of today, the settings look a lot better. But the eye-catcher of the film is of course the scantily clad Maureen O'Sullivan for that time, who effortlessly attracts all the attention with her sexy appearance. That is also allowed once, because I think that O'Sullivan (an old classmate of Vivien Leigh) is invariably undervalued as an actress.

Nice sequel in which the ivory hunt again plays a major role, meanwhile Jane is completely new

habituated to lifestyle.

Yet it is all very one sided in a way , the elephants always come to the rescue and the lions and other predators are always the bad guy , as well as the natives , would have been varied if eg Tarzan and Jane had adopted a lion cub or something like that ( just to name a few ) .
