The Adventures of Robin Hood plot

Sir Robin of Locksley is a nobleman who is declared a criminal when Prince John tries to take the throne from his absent brother. He flees to the forest of Sherwood where he gathers his Merry Men and calls himself Robin Hood. He starts stealing from the rich, then distributing the loot among the poor: the villagers who have to pay large sums of tax to the Sheriff of Nottingham. Meanwhile, he still has to defend the throne and win over his childhood sweetheart Maid Marian.

This was already the seventh film adaptation of Robin Hood. In 1922 you had an acquaintance with Douglas Fairbanks and the first goes back to 1908. This one is the most popular, with Errol Flynn as the green rogue who takes from the rich and gives to the poor. The story of Robin Hood is told here in its essence and forms the backbone for many later classics, not least the Disney version. Besides the fact that the film is in technicolor, the spectacle value of the film is also remarkable, with mass scenes (the shooter's tournament for example) and outdoor shots that make the film lively and also ensure that it is easy to watch. A great classic!
