A multimillionaire dies in a car accident in Italy and the lawyers will have to find out who is the heir to 20 million. They find Longfellow Deeds, the deceased's cousin, in a small village. The man seems uninterested in the fortune and seems to care more about the little things in life. They take him to the big city and want to convince him to give them, like his uncle, full power of attorney over the fortune. However, there are more hijackers on the coast and Deeds has no intention of moving into this new realm of big money without further information.

Excellent film about a man in a small town who inherits a fortune when his uncle dies. Gary Cooper does a good job as Longfellow Deeds (not just a lovely name, but above all a lovely character).
