If you had to name big franchises, the Fast series is one of the last you would mention next to greats like Harry Potter, James Bond, Star Wars, Transformers etc. Yet the "all about family" franchise is already in its seventh part. And also the best and most successful part of the series. Although that is also due to the premature death of Walker. A wonderful action extravaganza, a nice story, great locations that can compete with Mission: Impossible and James Bond, cool good and bad guys and Kurt Russell. A series that started small and gets better and bigger with the part.

Finally.

The movie I actually started watching this series for. Still a reasonable fan of Wan's work, but if you then make the seventh part in a series that didn't really appeal to me ... but once I took the trouble, I don't really regret it in the meantime.

I found the first films a bit mediocre, but the last parts are more bombastic. Good, because that's what a series like this really needs. The whole story, the connection between the characters and the sometimes irritating seriousness really doesn't interest you at all. F&F relies on the action and it really only gets better.

Wan might be a bit of an odd choice for this series, but apparently most people have already forgotten about Death Sentence. Still, a film that suggested that he could handle this kind of work. And that just turns out to be. His direction makes this seventh part the best in the series, although he does not manage to get it to the point where it really becomes masterful.

It's all a bit too ignorant for that. Wan also falls short in the man-to-man action. Nice that you put Tony Jaa in your film, but unfortunately such a person is not used to his best. Fortunately, the crazy action scenes make up for a lot and ensure that it never collapses or becomes annoying.

The final tribute to is extremely corny, by the way, but the film is easily forgiven. Check out part 8 soon, curious if they know how to keep the level high.

3.5*

Already the 7th film in the Fast and the Furious series, which started out as a relatively simple racing movie, but has gradually evolved into an over-the-top action movie with dizzying stunts that break all the laws of logic. defy.

The shooting of Furious 7 was temporarily stopped on December 1, 2013, after the sudden death of lead actor Paul Walker, who ironically died in a car accident. The film was not yet complete and the makers had to use stuntmen, body doubles (including Paul Walker's brother) and tricks to complete the remaining scenes with Walker. The result is impressive, because nowhere do you have the idea that something is wrong with the film.

Due to the tragic death of its protagonist, the hype for Furious 7 was enormous. Many people were curious about how the makers handled Walker's final scenes and how he will be written out of the series. As a result, Furious 7 became by far the most successful film in the series, grossing no less than $1.5 billion worldwide (more than double the amount of Fast & Furious 6[/ i]).

However, the success and mostly positive reactions cannot hide the fact that Furious 7 is a lot of action, without a decent story. That was already the case with Fast & Furious 6, but here the makers are making a big deal. The plot jumps from scratch and is really no more than a coat rack for the many spectacular action scenes. Here director Wan also shows his true talents.

With a running time of 137 minutes, however, the film is much too long and the viewer is knocked out at the end by an excess of explosions, car chases, etc. The success of these kinds of films shows, however, that the tank of [i ]The Fast And The Furious is far from empty.
