After delving too deeply into the shady dealings of a local politician, Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Detective Inspector Donny "Fitz" Fitzpatrick is exiled to work in Saint-Pierre et Miquelon, the French territory just off the coast of Newfoundland. Fitz's arrival disrupts the life of Deputy Chief Geneviève "Arch" Archambault. As if by fate, these two seasoned cops—with very different police skills and approaches—are forced to work together to solve crimes. Although the islands appear to be a picturesque tourist destination, their idyllic facade masks the worst kind of criminal activity.

Laat ik met de cliffhanger beginnen: er komt een derde seizoen. Mijn mening uit het eerste seizoen blijft staan: de crimeverhalen zijn redelijk, maar de uitvoering is soms zelfs belachelijk. Dat ze de ex van Fitz en de pa van Arch nog steeds een prominente plaats in zo'n beetje alle 12 afleveringen geven, komt bijna over als loze tijdvulling. Het is het allemaal net niet, dus veel meer als een krappe voldoende wordt het voor mij niet.

Let me start with the cliffhanger: there will be a third season. My opinion from the first season stands: the crime stories are decent, but the execution is sometimes even ridiculous. The fact that they still give Fitz’s ex and Arch’s father a prominent role in pretty much all 12 episodes almost comes across as pointless filler. It just isn't quite there, so for me, it won't get much more than a barely passing grade.
