Revised, and it's still a great movie.

Nice dark atmosphere. And that's the most important I think. It doesn't matter if you guessed correctly or not. It's not much more than a 50/50. All the film does is throw the audience between the two extremes. Penn is acting in a fun movie for once, Douglas isn't exactly my favorite but does a decent job here.

Furthermore, Fincher makes it a very nice atmosphere. Would almost find it an interesting director, shame about Se7en. Not much of a problem with credibility. More whining from people who weren't in the film anyway, and then it seems logical to me that this can get stuck.

So nice video. Not more than that, but still 4*. Very entertaining the second time.

A game that initially keeps you hooked and makes you curious, but after a while the surprise ebbs away because everything that is impossible turns out to be possible and then I say "a game too far".

Dots for the sultry atmosphere and what tension should suggest and of course for a very accurate Michael Douglas, excellent in such a role.

Seen it several times, in my opinion an absolute top film. It definitely still is after the umpteenth revision. It had been a few years since I last saw the film so needed time for a review.

What always strikes me in a positive way is the atmosphere that the film breathes throughout the entire running time. Completely mysterious, supported by a soundtrack that is almost even more mysterious. Even though you know exactly what's coming and how it's going to end, it's still captivating from start to finish.

Speaking of the ending, the reason I'm taking half off is the culprit. I've often tried to refute it against my better judgment and tell myself that it's not that bad, but I can't help but conclude that the end is just over the edge, literally and figuratively

I usually appreciate Michael Douglas, but I think this is his best acting performance. A great role, after five minutes you already hate his character and the great thing is that he manages to keep it up for a very long time.

Furthermore, the cast is well taken care of and I really have nothing negative to say about this absolute top film.

Well half off, 4.5*
