Watched because of the Penis Song I once came across somewhere on Youtube. And that song turned out to be missing in the film version that I managed to get my hands on. What remains is very bad. Everything is really over the top in an incredibly predictable way with the toilet scene as the low point. The romantic story is wafer-thin, making the whole thing extremely banal.

Neither funny nor interesting, so the bare minimum. If I ever see the version with that song in it again, I'll add something else. I'm just afraid the rest around it is so miserable I'll never look for it again. But hey, who knows what the future will bring. 0.5*.

Very funny.

Normally this kind of comedies are a bit more difficult for me, but this film has a certain appeal that just knows how to work very well. This way the film keeps knocking on your door again and again with a new scene that is difficult to get off your retina.

And that's a compliment, because in this way this film continuously manages to surprise and pull a new scene out of the magic hat. It's all a bit bland and exaggerated, of course, but it works. It also helps that the three protagonists fit the roles very well. I'm not a fan of Diaz and Applegate individually, but together they have a special chemistry.

In the end, it's mainly about the jokes, pranks and pranks. The advantage of the film is that Kumble keeps it all unpredictable by coming up with a new special scene every time. I wasn't bored for a moment, although I didn't really get a giggle either. Sometimes these kinds of comedies are just really good, so I have few complaints. Ample.

The Sweetest Thing is a wonderful genre film where you can expect everything you hope for. The banal intermetzzo's are delicious and especially the combination Diaz and Applegate works very well because they go together very nicely.
