"He Finds His Greatest Adventure With A Death-Dealing Adventuress!"

A valuable emerald is smuggled into the US. This gem is soon stolen and two people are killed in this theft. Private investigator Philo Vance will investigate the case with the assistance of erratic brunette Laurian March. Both have to deal with an international gang of smugglers and a third murder.
