The Color Purple plot
"It's about life. It's about love. It's about us."
Georgia, 1909. Celie, poor, black and scorned, is married off to an elderly man who abuses her. Life isn't easy for Celie, but she knows how to survive and needs little to make it through. Then her husband's mistress, a flamboyant blues singer, comes into her life. She gives Celie the courage to ask, to laugh, to play and ultimately, to love.
