Long sitting, but above all a special experience that could fascinate me more than Red Cliff yesterday and almost magical in style and colours.

The film stands out because of a colorful and above all traditional-looking beginning, although there is a lot of talk in the first phase, it is certainly not boring. After that it does take a while before the pan catches fire, but I have to say that the first blow is beautifully presented and with a certain style. Very nice choice to omit the normal noise of a battle and to add moody yet melodic music. Very stylish and beautifully made. The music is worth mentioning again, stay strong throughout the film.

After the first blow, the film seems quite bogged down in a lot of distant drama, scheming and 'errant' people. Things that I find very difficult to pay attention to and then the playing time also starts to work against me. The colors are often a nice fill, but also tend towards the kitsch just like the Lord himself who could come straight out of Kill Bill or whatever ode by Tarantino.

All in all, very nice to see once, in certain areas very stylish, very nice strike at an hour and ten minutes, especially certain images of nature are very beautiful, sometimes they seem to come from another planet. Nice movie, but not quite my thing.

Based on Shakespeare's play King Lear with its own interpretation by Kurosawa. The most interesting moment of the film was in the beginning for me. The scene where the old landlord wants to hand over the scepter to his sons. The atmosphere is cleverly created with the lavishly colorful costumes and set up tents in a wild, but barren landscape.

Afterwards I found the film quite long-winded and I couldn't get enough of the very annoying jester who hops around all the time. The battles were again very nicely portrayed, but in general I had expected more from the plot. It has become an alternation of strong scenes with very slow moments that were less interesting. The film caught my eye mainly on a visual level and a strong plot in itself, but not enough to keep me on my toes for the entire running time.
