Joe Palooka in The Squared Circle plot
"JOE MATCHES HIS FISTS...against gangland guns!"
Heavyweight boxing champion Joe Palooka and his friend Humphrey Pennyworth find the body of a murdered gambler near Joe's training camp. The escaped assassins shoot at them, but neither of them are hit. However, prosecutor Michael Brogdon cannot investigate the murder because the body has disappeared. A mobster contacts Knobby Walsh, Joe's manager. He tells him that his boxer Joe Palooka should refrain from defending his title in the upcoming boxing match. Knobby refuses and is kidnapped to force Joe to abandon this boxing match.
