American boxing champion Joe Palooka challenges Angelo Cardona. Angelo insists that he wants to beat Joe in his own country, in South America. Cardona's manager Anton Kindel convinces Joe's manager Knobby Walsh to agree to a rebound this summer in South America. Knobby doesn't realize, however, that the South American summer will start in four weeks. When Anne Howe is unable to accompany her friend Joe on the "SS Valora," she goes incognito aboard the ship as a reporter to cover Joe's training.
