"Joe kayoes a gambling gang in his third big film hit!"
Heavyweight boxing champion Joe Palooka has knocked out an opponent, who later dies in his locker room. Joe feels responsible for his death and plans to quit boxing. But Nina, the late boxer's fiancée, thinks he died as a result of a drug given to him by a gang of gamblers. These gamblers got rich after betting on Joe. Joe, his manager Knobby Walsh and the police team up to track down the gamblers.
