A Face in the Crowd plot

"POWER! He loved it! He took it raw in big gulpfuls … he liked the taste, the way it mixed with the bourbon and the sin in his blood!"

Larry Rhodes is a bum who sings in the street to earn his money. He is discovered one day by Marcia Jeffries, after which he becomes a celebrity. This gives him more and more power, a new phenomenon for Rhodes. He becomes increasingly selfish and considers abusing his power.

Popularity and success are inevitably exploited and lead to decline if the individual does not exert the necessary control.

Actually a classic story from the world of stars and idols, here strongly portrayed by Elia Kazan, faithful to the social and humane slant in his films.

Andy Griffith plays the role of the fun-making sweet talker (actually beautiful bruller) who gets the short-sighted masses on his side.

Patricia Neal, who is not so well known to me, plays at least as strong and Walter Matthau still seems very young, but his typical talk and way of moving is already well established.

Despite the fact that the roar and laughter of "lonesome" continued to disturb me from start to finish, I didn't think it was a crazy film in the end. The run-up took a very long time, while the period of decline deserved more attention: here the film became more and more fascinating.

Very strange, I hadn't recognized the young Lee Remick here even though her face looked familiar to me.

A strong film about media hype and influencing the masses DMV the medium TV, still as relevant today (perhaps even more than it was then).

Edward Burneys , the founder of PR said it several times : the masses are stupid and you see it here and you see it here

( in a somewhat simple form perhaps ) be proved .

Andy Griffith plays his part convincingly but the fame goes to his head so much that it has to go wrong in the end.
