Not very special actually.

Little experience with Ritchie's first work, but with this he leaves a reasonable impression. Which is strange, because an 8 average is absurdly high for a film that doesn't even excel in the genre. Fortunately, it is all nicely filmed.

Jokes that often don't work, with which the British humor quickly got to the bottom of my throat. At times there was a catchy dialogue that made me smile, even if it really only came from Vinnie Jones and Jason Statham. The rest wasn't exactly funny, Pitt in particular really disappoints me.

Nice camera movements and a catchy, hip montage. This should make a very boring story into a successful crime comedy, but it partly does. It often remains a bit boring, in the beginning it was all impossible to follow and I soon lost who has what problem.

In the end, this is all amusing, but I don't think it is nearly as good as everyone thinks it is. More like a movie I put on when I'm bored. But it doesn't really help that I don't really like the crime genre.

Not everyone will agree with me, but this remains the best movie ever for me. It's just right from start to finish. The story, the characters, the atmosphere, the editing, the music and above all the humor. I can't really think of a scene that I didn't find entertaining, and that's unique to me. Over the decades, many attempts have been made to emulate Snatch (as well as Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels) in the same style, but unfortunately none (including Ritchie herself) have managed to come close.

There is no room for romance or any depth in this film and that, in my opinion, is what makes this film so incredibly strong. Just a lot of brutal violence and strong British humor at a fast pace, combined with a top cast and a well-thought-out script.

Revised last night, last time was (unfortunately) years ago anyway.

I found the beginning a bit messy and it gets off to a slow start.

I was still thinking, "Wow. In my head this was a good movie."

This will work out pretty quickly; as soon as the atmosphere grabs you, you're right in the middle of it.

You see effects that you know were new then, and are common now.

At times the film is simply brilliant, but in general it is just very good.

And Brick-Top is just really scary.
