I think the Shawshank Redemption is a great movie. I've seen him in the past, but he doesn't get bored. The direction of the film is good. The director was able to tell everything in the story well. The script of the film is clear. The story is easy to follow without any confusion. The first time I watched the film I understood exactly what was going on, but I didn't find the film predictable. When it comes to credibility, I have a divided opinion. It all looks very believable, and it feels that way, but you wouldn't expect something like this to take place in real life. The editing of the film was well put together. There were almost no special effects or computer graphics, but they weren't necessary to understand the story. The costume designs of the film fit well with the setting and do not deviate from the tone of the film. The same goes for the set design. The old Shawshank Prison, which has been out of use since 1990, is a perfect setting for the film, adding to the atmosphere and helping you get right into the film. The background music also contributes very well to the atmosphere of the story so that you can understand the feeling of the main character and the prisoners. The main character's motto comes out last, 'Fear can hold you prisoner. Hope can set you free. Also a great movie

Very good.

I already had high expectations for the best film, and they have been fulfilled. I don't think it's the best movie of all time, but it's definitely very good. Robbins and Freeman deliver top performances, and prison movies always fascinate me.

Good location chosen, nice and gloomy. The images do not look very hard, but sometimes beautifully portrayed. A lot of details have been put into the film and everything just falls into place. Story is well presented, Darabont delivers a topper.

I don't have much more to add. It is of course a top film, which every film fan should see. Rated as number 1 on both MM and IMdB. That's not to say that you're going to like the movie, but it does mean that a lot of movie fans agree that the movie is very good. And he was.

“I mean, really, how often do you look at a man's shoes...” When I think of The Shawshank Redemption, I think of the quote above, the great actors, the relationship between 'Red ' and Andy, the timeless story of friendship, sacrifice and perseverance and of course Rita Hayworth's poster. The film has a certain magic about it, and Darabont does a great job here. The calm and natural dialogues, the recognizable characters, the atmospheric images, the music, the slow pace of the film, etc. Perfect. The Shawshank Redemption is about the life of Andy Dufresne. He has to go to jail for the murder of his wife, but Andy won't let it go. But more than that, Shawshank is about prison life and all the colorful characters in it. Red (and Brooks of course) are the personification of this prison life, and they have been there for a long time. Red has already made peace with being in prison until his death, but the friendship with Andy changes that. Andy gets to deal with even more characters in addition to Red, and all of them are wonderfully portrayed by the actors. Freeman and Robbins are great as Red and Andy. Both play so naturally and give their characters so much depth that it feels like you've known them for years. Bob Gunton is also great as a tyrannical prison warden who doesn't care much about paying taxes. The movie never really gets grim despite being set in prison, and at times it feels like an old men's card club. It doesn't do the film any favors for credibility, but who cares if there is so much to enjoy. The ending in particular is unbelievable.
