This second film also remains very entertaining and is in the same vein as the first. The opening scene alone is a real introduction to the state banquet. Hilarious scenes with the First Lady. In addition to the jokes and pranks, the puns are also very successful. Just think of the dialogue around “Sex, Frank?”.

Leslie Nielsen remains very good in his role. A pleasure to watch. With him around it is always upright springs where you can laugh. The film is also full of small details in the background with some absurdity.

Always nice to see you back. Nice slapstick series!

In general, this second Naked Gun part is quite entertaining. I saw the first movie a few months ago, and this sequel is an extension of that level. It's eighty minutes of straight forward nonsense, and I mean that in the positive sense of the word in this case. The fact is and remains that these movies are saved by only one person, and that is the amazing Leslie Nielsen. If they had cast the wrong actor for his role, the Naked Gun movies would be 10x nothing. Nielsen is on a roll here, and his dry deadpan humor is hilarious. Always laugh out loud. I don't like the slapstick situations, and unfortunately they often dominate the film. It's a little too infantile at times. If the makers had fully responded to Nielsen's incredibly dry humor I would have liked this, and the previous part, a lot better. But well, it has its charm nonetheless, and it's no punishment to sit this out.

3*

She ruled the city the same way she made love....with an iron first

This brilliant one-liner isn't in the movie, but it's on the movie poster! And Drebin's colleague says:

He insisted he was innocent. He was merely trying to push that sheep through the fence.

Yes, that's my kind of humor. And there's plenty of it in the movie, too, though it's certainly not all grubby. The reference to Ghost is hilarious. The orgasm scene is simply brilliant. There's also plenty of slapstick weather of the kind where it just keeps going and disaster piles up on disaster. And the dorky OJ Simpson is again the head of Jut, but of course Drebin also makes the necessary slips. The fiery red Priscilla here is even tastier than in the first part. And enough one-liners:

I see a lot of familiar facelifts

This time we also see a nice imitation of George Bush. Incidentally, both sides of the political spectrum are getting a kick out of it. The theme now is not a simple plot to kill but to push fossil fuels through at the expense of renewables. A bit outdated by now, as we cannot rely entirely on renewables. Doesn't matter, this is and remains just a laugh and it's a small coat rack.

Excellent sequel. There is not too much rumination and there are more than enough funny jokes. Strange that the rating is lagging.
