It spawned two sequels, The Naked Gun 2½: The Smell of Fear, and The Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult.

The series starred the late, great Leslie Nielsen as Lieutenant Frank Drebin, Priscilla Presley, George Kennedy and, er O.J. Simpson.

Die-hard Naked Gun fans were adamant that it should never be remade, but Family Guy's Seth MacFarlane has bravely taken it upon himself to write and produce a remake which stars Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson.
