Gwyneth Paltrow plays well, but I always find the acting performances of Jack Black a bit too forced. Nevertheless, still enjoyed it.

Love this double bottom. Hal suddenly sees the beautiful interior of ladies, but that is portrayed to the viewer by ladies with a beautiful and therefore slim appearance. May be taken as an insult by girls with a weight problem. Not exactly a Weight Watchers classic. Jack Black reimburses a lot. You must love his over-acting. Weird to see the porky Jason Alexander with a teddy bear toupee on his head and then hear them rant about what ugly women are. We know him as George Costanza from Seinfeld. Hmmm, judge for yourself whether this is a 'Basic Instinct' moment with Gwyneth Paltrow. Gwyneth Paltrow Underwear Scene in Shallow Hall - AZNude

“Shallow Hal wants a gal!”
Nice nonsense. The humor feels a bit awkward and is sometimes painfully unfunny, but the interplay between Black and Paltrow makes it all fun to watch. It is therefore more of a romantic film than a comedy. Paltrow in a fat suit looks very fake, but she still manages to make a lot of it. And that alone is worth a compliment.
