"When someone does you a big favor, don't pay it back... Pay It Forward"

Young Trevor receives a remarkable new assignment from his social studies teacher: figure out a way to make the world a better place. Trevor devises a plan where everyone has to do a good deed for three people, who in turn have to do it for three others. At first glance, the idea seems to fail, but after a while the idea catches on, causing a tremendous change in Trevor's environment.

It's been a long time since I'd seen this movie and I couldn't really remember much about it. It's a good movie with an original story. The film deals with a large number of themes such as alcohol abuse, single-parent families, ... without getting corny. The cast did well and played subdued.

The ending was surprising and I wasn't expecting it. I would rather have seen a different ending, but it actually fits into the story.

Worth (re)watching.

You have to be American to bring such a fake product.

There was a good starting theme though, but unfortunately it turned out to be a mushy, gooey and sweet thing.

Whether they are alcoholics or drug addicts, thieves or a less than exemplary mother, they are all good-natured, generous people in the end, all with a valid excuse.

In addition, I should have known for a long time that Americans like to present their youngsters (age 11, here) as incredible, super-intelligent creatures that professors and parents reason into the corner, and don't bother me anymore, but Haley Joel Osmont still beat all the records here.

"Okay" Helen Hunt flirted with the ridiculousness.

Pretty nice movie that revolves around a really nice message and a very simple concept like doing a good deed.

The time is taken to make things right, by means of a new teacher with a 'separate' assignment, Osment who, due to problems at home, has not really fallen for the cake, and after that a fairly ambitious if also idyllic comes up with a plan. The tricks and the poignancy of the plot are that the 'good deeds' that Osment does himself seem to come to nothing. Yet his message reaches further than he expected. The idea with the journalist who bites into it and the bum, Caviezel, who eventually sees the light and does something good, are pretty well thought out. The millstone that Spacey drags along, recognizing all too well Osment's problems and uncertain future, aka. I don't share the sigh from above about the end . Precisely because the film is so ending , it gets a little more impact. How often do we see something like this that a well-meaning pays the bill? That makes it realistic for me.

Enough with the praise, because is it all sunshine? No! The movie ends up being a bit too gooey and too sweet in some way. HJ Osment is really annoying every now and then. He is simply too wise, too smart, too smart and too 'mature'. Only at that party, where the journalist is at the door, and later at that interview, does Osment have two moments of something childish, behavior befitting a child of that age. The idea is great, but in the end I don't have anything with that kid. Helen Hunt also looks to be eaten and Caviezel puts down a great role, just like Spacey by the way.

Great movie for once, nice idea, but has made a bigger impression in the past. I think that as a viewer you still get calluses on the soul.
