Shallow Hal plot
"True love is worth the weight."
When his father was on his deathbed, young Hal was told that later he should only date the youngest and most beautiful girls. He then does this too, until he is hypnotized by a guru. He runs into Rosemary, whom he falls in love with despite her obesity. After his hypnosis, he only sees the inner beauty of women.

Gwyneth Paltrow plays well, but I always find the acting performances of Jack Black a bit too forced. Nevertheless, still enjoyed it.

Love this double bottom. Hal suddenly sees the beautiful interior of ladies, but that is portrayed to the viewer by ladies with a beautiful and therefore slim appearance. May be taken as an insult by girls with a weight problem. Not exactly a Weight Watchers classic. Jack Black reimburses a lot. You must love his over-acting. Weird to see the porky Jason Alexander with a teddy bear toupee on his head and then hear them rant about what ugly women are. We know him as George Costanza from Seinfeld. Nice nonsense. The humor feels a bit awkward and is sometimes painfully unfunny, but the interplay between Black and Paltrow makes it all fun to watch. It is therefore more of a romantic film than a comedy. Paltrow in a fat suit looks very fake, but she still manages to make a lot of it. And that alone is worth a compliment.
