On the one hand, this sequel to Austin Powers can be razed to the ground quite easily due to the fact that it is a complete repetition of moves. Agree, Jay Roach introduces some new characters like Mini-Me or Fat Bastard, but by and large this is of course a direct copy of the first film. Jokes are often even literally repeated. However, it still works fine. It turns out that there isn't much to do with the main character Austin Powers and the female protagonist (Heather Graham, who takes over from Elizabeth Hurley), but luckily there is also enough room here for some colorful secondary characters. The Spy Who Shagged Me is a lazy replay, but fortunately quite an amusing replay.

3 stars.
