Really nice to see you again. It's still a good movie, even if I'm 27 instead of 10 now. Also in terms of special effects (especially with Quidditch you see a bit too striking truckage as well as with the troll) it doesn't feel outdated. Daniel Radcliffe looks very young here, he looks like 8 years old but he was already 11 when filming. The funny thing is that I never made it to the end in both books and movies. Both close to the end but I never finished it. This time it will happen in the film series anyway. I never got past 150 pages in the last book. This is most definitely nostalgia, I remembered the main lines of the story of course. I also know that I once had nightmares of Professor Quirrell. Funny how I thought that was scary at the time. Also great how Alan Rickman plays Snape. What a brilliant actor that was! Going to sit down for part 2 soon.

Then finally.... after really more than a decade of delay, I made the decision and started the Harry Potter series. I've never watched a book, movie, series anything about Harry Potter so I went into it completely blank.

The delay has not had a great effect because advancing techniques, CGI and insights make it seem a bit dated. Anyway, the blank boarding helped, I had no expectations and although it took quite a long time it looked pretty easy.

I did get annoyed by the "hack on the branch scenes" and incoherent storyline every now and then.

Other than that, my curiosity has been aroused and I'm going to continue with part 2.
