The Amazing Spider-Man

Entertaining but a bit redundant Spiderman reboot. The film starts again with the “origin story” about Peter Parker who is bitten by a spider and from that moment on develops superhuman powers. A few years after the films with Tobey Maguire in the lead role, a bit redundant. Personally, I think Andrew Garfield is a better Spiderman than Tobey Maguire, but that doesn't change the fact that there is little new under the sun.

Director Marc Webb is known for the film (500) Days of Summer and you can see that in the fresh and sparkling dialogues and highly developed characters. The power of The Amazing Spider-Man lies in the relationship between Gwen Stacy and Peter Parker. Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are great together and their interplay is a joy to watch. What chemistry those two have! The action scenes are well put together, but a meandering and spider web shooting Spiderman will get boring in the long run. The biggest flaw of this film is Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard. As a bad guy he is not threatening at all and does not radiate anything. Garfield is a great Spiderman and along with Stone, he actually deserves a better movie. Webb knows how to make it all fun and it never gets boring or boring. The Amazing Spider-Man is 136 minutes of pure entertainment and has no pretensions to be anything more than that. Sometimes delicious.

ok, I ignored this Spiderman for a long time, partly thanks to the very fast reboot after the original trilogy. I'm also not in the Marvel Universe enough to immediately check how it compares to Raimi's original (I'll call this the original for convenience), because the pattern is actually continued here step by step or at least largely ( only with a considerably larger role for the smartphone).
And the film is indeed not as fantastic as it was hailed at the time of release.

Garfield is in itself an interesting choice as Peter Parker, but I gradually got tired of those other-worldliness tricks he showed in Boy A too, especially when the obligatory romance was emphasized. People above mention the arrogance of this Spiderman/Parker, I had more trouble with the generous advances that Parker gave to actually betray all his identity, several times with a basketball, suddenly being the fighting hero at school and the nerd vs. I didn't think skateboy was a success either, the Tobey Maguire Parker was really more of a nerd, here you got too much of 2 pockets.
The Lizard was a complete failure as an enemy, eliciting laughter rather than fear or a real sense of imminent danger. Also, little was done with the "gas" that descended on the townspeople, I expected a kind of horde of mutants would riot through the city.
I also found that too many people quickly learned that PP is Spiderman (including Leary as a policeman who dies handy of course)

The action through the city with all the floating action and first person is much better than the Raimi debut film.
But this movie is really fun for 1 night and then you know it.

Not a fan of superhero movies, but Spider-man is one of the least bad superheroes, perhaps because he is also a nerd. For the purists, this will probably be a better series than the Spider-man movies with Tobey Maguire because of some details like that Gwen Stacy was Spider-man's first love and that in these movies he himself invents the web shooters, while the possibility exists to shoot along with the mutation came for Maguires Spider-man. Garfield's Spider-man is also a bit smarter than Maguire's, who is a bit more nerdy, which personally appeals to me more.

The film is also slightly better than the best Maguire film (which for me was the second part), although that is mainly due to the improved effects. It just looks less fake. In terms of content mainly some different accents, but not better or worse. Visually, by the way, not so much better that it is reflected in a higher figure. 2* so.
