Nice ending.

Similar to the previous films. Again a lot of balancing between the different Yakuza groups, with a lot of different characters who each participate in the whole Yakuza thing with their own goal. The first hour is therefore quite bearable, after which you will be presented with more action.

Kitano remains a tremendously imposing figure, but the rest of the cast also asserts themselves. Although in the end there is no one who can really shine individually, the film is not so much about characters, but about the entire Yakuza body.

Visually strong but smooth, it is especially the soundtrack that was impressive. Never thought that Kitano could replace Hisaishi so well, smart to go in a completely different direction with the music. Nice film for those who like the more serious Yakuza film, but probably a bit dry for some.

4.0* and a extensive review

This movie sat on the shelf for a very long time before I finally watched it. The main reason was that I first wanted to revise the previous two parts because when I saw the second part I noticed that the first part had faded a lot. So I finished the entire trilogy in one weekend.

I have to say it's good to watch the other films first without too much time in between. Quite a few characters pass by and it quickly becomes clear which name goes with which face and which group it belongs to. There are quite a few groups and especially groups within groups. In the end it is almost a Shakespearean tragedy with all the palace intrigue.

The films are further in line with each other. No humor like in Sonatine, but a lot of harsh, ruthless and careless violence. The first two films in particular are strong in terms of inventive murders and torture; This last part is visually a bit more beautiful, which is also the difference in age of the film.

In any case, this film concludes the entire saga in a good way. And it was nice to see Ren Osugi in what must have been one of his last films. I thought it was a shame that he didn't appear in the previous films, but fortunately he still showed up here. Also 4* for this conclusion to the trilogy.

Clearly the least of the three Outrage films. This one is definitely superfluous because there is no extra in comparison to the two predecessors... it's just more of the same, but of lower quality... the intrigues between different yakuza families remain, but the build-up to a climax falls apart. in return for. Coda gives a tired impression; even the scenes of violence that were so harsh and explicit in the first film are lame. The more gory murders remain neatly offscreen. There is not much enthusiasm from the direction, as if Coda was made with some reluctance. Kitano is a pleasure to watch as the old-school yakuza who still cunningly deals with his enemies

Outrage : 4*

Outrage Beyond: 3.5*

Outrage Coda : 3*
