Wonderful movie with Chan.

The start with that bus is a great/classic scene from Chan's movies. The actors also do a decent job. The scene at the mall at the end is absolutely amazing and there were a few top 10 Chan stunts in it. As usual a wonderfully entertaining film. 4.5.

I once had this film at 5*, but that honor is too great. The 1985 film comes from the period when Jackie Chan took the step from strong martial arts films, to films with impressive stunts and his well-known fights in which he uses his environment and the objects that lie there. Even though the film is visually dated and you have to love the humor in between the fights, it has become a real Jackie Chan genre for me. There are more such films, but Jackie Chan is the top in terms of these stunts. Just knowing it's all real and what the stakes are makes those stunts even more impressive. How he picks up a lot of telephones on his own is a fantastic combination of elaborate choreography and humor!

Police Story has its flaws and may not be the best movie, but it's still a great and almost unique movie. Add some guilty pleasure as a fan of the Chan films and you have a strong film. (for me though)

You like Jackie Chan or not, because he has also made quite a few lame films, but that certainly does not apply to this one. The big action scenes, especially the shopping mall scene are very well done and you really see Jackie at his best. The story isn't much and the acting doesn't work either, but that more than makes up for the action.
