"Failures and suffering make a real hero."
Hong Kong Police Inspector Wing is the victim of a gang led by Evil Joe. When his entire team is murdered, Wing relapses into guilt-ridden drinking. It's up to young newcomer Frank to get Wing back on his feet and begin the adventure of revenge on Evil Joe and his Gang of Five. Especially when it gets personal.

hmm quite a mishmash of different genres in a not so delicious mix.
Chan does play his part. As so often, he shows more of himself in the Chinese movies than in the American movies and here too he shows that he is more than just an action star.
Still, the film is a big mess and it's a miracle in itself that it remains very entertaining despite everything. Bland jokes are interspersed with very dramatic undertones, which in turn are supported by positive music. The action scenes are fun and entertaining, but sometimes quite poorly portrayed. In terms of story, the film is also a vale of tears. Many plotholes, unnecessary parts and that in a story that you can write on one page, it's a shame. The bad guys are nice. You think because they are so young that Chan can handle them easily but they seem more difficult than expected. It is therefore a pity that in the finale all this fades into the background and they are presented as teenagers again and not the cold-blooded murderers.
New Police story is an entertaining film but on the other hand also a film that doesn't feel finished because too much borrowing is done from so many different films

A raw police film, with a lot of violence and drama, completely different from what we are used to from Jackie Chan. I don't think his acting is that bad, but there should have been a little less crying. The juvenile criminals are also a bit unbelievable, with their online computer game, skateboarding, small bicycles and ridiculous masks. They are quite annoying and you would love to see them die, though. In the end, with their parents in the bank, they are once again relegated to mother's children instead of hard and unscrupulous police killers. One thing's for sure, Chan can still kick ass even though he's already 50 here.
