Dracula: Prince of Darkness plot
"DEAD for Ten Years DRACULA, Prince of Darkness, LIVES AGAIN!"
Two befriended couples go on a trip in Eastern Europe. Against all advice, they decide to visit Carlstadt. When evening falls, their coachman abandons them on the outskirts of the village. They find shelter in the local castle and are pleasantly surprised by the hospitality of Klove. What they don't know is that the owner of the castle is Count Dracula. He has been dead for 10 years now and has been waiting all this time for this visit.

I make quite a mess of the sequence in the Lee Dracula films. Today the second part. Excellent Hammer horror. Our English friends are warned so clearly: do not go to the castle. Dracula is not that talkative here, although Christopher Lee is of course scary enough as the Count even without dialogue.

Good film in which two friendly couples travel through Eastern Europe and end up at a castle. Although the design and plot are a lot simpler compared to the previous Dracula from the series, it is a lot more mysterious here. James Bernard's tension-increasing music once again does its job well. Obviously a bit dated, but that is also part of the charm. A narrow 3.5 stars.
