"Sometimes when you least expect it..."
A widower (Aaron Eckhart) has written a successful book on coping with loss. On a business trip to Seattle, he falls for a woman (Jennifer Aniston) who attends one of his seminars. He soon finds out that he is far from over the loss of his wife.

Reasonable film, seen on RTL8 in the Valentine's week. Jeniffer Anniston always interesting actress, also fits into this genre. The protagonist, on the other hand, is not that interesting to me and I had cast another actor. But all in all a nice film for a rainy Sunday morning.

With The Good Girl, Horrible Bosses and Cake, Jennifer Aniston has shown that she can do more than just play another "Rachel role" in a mediocre rom-com. Yet she is still often cast in rom-com films and in Love Happens she shows once again how good she is at playing the “cute love interest”.
Love Happens itself is not very special and never manages to rise above mediocrity, but Aniston does well and has a nice chemistry with Eckhart. I'm convinced that even with Jonah Hill in a garbage bag Aniston could still have good chemistry, but Eckhart is also doing well. A writer of self-help books who still has an unprocessed trauma is of course not very original and unfortunately the film is not very surprising. The acquaintance between the two is nicely done, but after that it all becomes much too predictable and the film never manages to surprise. If it crackles between the protagonists, that doesn't have to be an insurmountable problem, but Eckhart and Aniston are decent, but they certainly can't take the mediocre material to a higher level. But Love Happens is certainly not an annoying film and it all looks nice.

Typical romantic nonsense in which success guru Aaron Eckhart falls in love with a stunning Jennifer Aniston. Main characters who initially hate each other but gradually grow to like each other very much. Understandable and predictable, just like the rest of this romcom. Subtlety has been completely left out, no role is explored in depth. Brandon Camp made Love Happens one in the long list of films suitable for a rainy Sunday afternoon. Make lemonade from lemons, only this time the lemonade will remain very sour. 1,5*
