Totally unnecessary sequel. Atmosphere is gone and the gore is also a bit disappointing (could also be a bit more frequent). Unfortunately this only gets a 1.5.

Girl who once made it out of Zombie 2 Island alive goes sailing with a bunch of mercenaries and ends up on the infamous zombie island, where the living dead still roam.

They do look a bit less spectacular now: werewolves, ninjas, Ewoks and the monks from The Blind Dead walk around a bit together....and the zombies can run, talk and shoot machine guns!!!

Gore meter occasionally goes off track, although less so than its predecessors.

But it is a lot of zombie fun, including a bad 80s soundtrack.

Saw it 15 years ago and didn't appreciate it that much at the time, but when I rewatched it I still really enjoyed it.

First of all, a wonderfully thumping 80's soundtrack that enhances almost every scene. The intro credits are purposefully stretched to allow for the full track 'Living After Death' by Al Festa to be showcased.

Music remains a hugely important part. Especially for a film like this. Without the soundtrack this would be at least half a point lower. The film starts off very nicely with a cool first 45 minutes. Nice jungle vibe, nicely filmed, bad characters, some gore, smoke machines that work overtime. Very nice and all very cheesy.

When they seek shelter in the hospital, the ideas unfortunately run out and the fun is over. The denouement is very cool though.

More than fine mindless entertainment from the creator of the infamous Troll 2. Definitely an improvement over Lucio Fulci's Zombi 3.
