Jackie goes 007.
In this last film of the Police Story series, the only resemblance to the previous films is that Chan and his same manager appear in it.
Furthermore, the many scenes in 'Russia' and Australia make it a much more international project than the previous films. In addition, because of the much English talk and the portrayal of Russia as the big bad guy, it has a much more international (American) feel.
The scenes with the shark and the snowmobiles also remind a lot of James Bond. The Moore period, because just like Chan in this film, he did everything with a big wink.
Still fun, but a lot less Asian than the previous PS films and secretly I thought that was a bit of a shame.

Reasonable film in which a police officer has to follow a suspect on the plane. It may be the fourth installment in the Police Story series, but any kind of introduction wouldn't have done the film wrong. Although the plot doesn't really matter in the end and maybe it's also because I saw the shortened VS version. Jackie Chan's physical stunt work remains entertaining and spectacular to watch and the bland humor does the rest.

Also seen the short version of 80 minutes, but in Chinese spoken. The film is indeed a bit reminiscent of the Bond films, even the music, but there is little humor in it (except for the lame jokes, such as Chan with a seal cap, underpants with a seal on the crotch etc) and less conspicuous stunt work than we are used to from Chan. The best moments are the fight with the two guys' Russian trees in the hotel room, and the fight with the ladder and sticks. Not as good as the previous three Police Story movies.
