There is clearly a lot going on in this film. One ethical dilemma after another, and quite topical too - how far can you go with the right to demonstrate, to kick in an obvious door. But also what the other side of that is - we all think we are the good guys, but that is often disappointing. Quite brave of a German director to play with this imagery by the way, and I am not so sure whether I feel comfortable with the position. In terms of acting, it is all fine, also in the action scenes. As far as I can judge, it is also filmed quite realistically.

But that doesn't really make it a pleasant or good film. Perhaps a documentary would have provided a better approach to this subject.

Through her good friend Batte [Luisa-Céline Gaffron], Luisa [Mala Emde] joins a group of anti-fascist youths that is mainly concerned with disrupting public meetings of far-right groups. A split arises within that group, personified by Lenor [Tonio Schneider], who wants to stick to non-violent actions, and Alfa [Noah Saavedra], who is prepared to use violence to silence the Nazis. The camera follows Luisa during her personal development from an awkward follower to a headstrong activist who is faced with a moral dilemma. With the help of cameraman Daniele Knapp, Von Heinz manages to bring to life the chaos and tension of a confrontation between two fanatical, hostile political factions. Emde is also excellent in the lead role. It just takes a while for the story to get going.
